Soleil had parted from Jali for a few hours, not wanting her travelling companion to see any weakness. But her wound still needed tending, and to do that she needed herbs. Just the ones that old guy had taught her about. So she was scrounging the calm, sandy banks of a pond in search of those fuzzy reeds. She couldn't recall the name she'd been told, but she remembered the scent. With a lowered head, Soleil figured in this low dawn light, she was being quite stealthy. No need for Jali to know about the ache of the wound. She didn't want to worry her... friend. Still felt weird to think she had one. Suprisingly though, Soleil didn't find it unappealing. Silvius

Silvius "Bear" The umber man made his way along the sandy blank slowly, in no hurry. He hadn’t run into any lions for a while, and he was determined to find Lucius. He had been able to follow his scent and trail far, but once he got into these lands, he had gotten fairly lost. So now he needed to find witnesses who had seen his brother. It would be difficult, most likely, but he wasn’t willing to give up on Varius, not yet anyways.
As these thoughts passed through his head, the drifting scent of another lion hit his nose, and he followed it slowly, traveling down the bank, it would probably be hard to see him, his pelt following a similar scheme to the rising sun. As he came upon the lionesses right, he chuffed gently at her, coming to a halt not far from her, pausing for her to speak first.

Dipping her head to inspect the reeds around the pool, Soleil soon found she wasn't having much luck with the whole herb-hunting thing. The scuff of paws behind her made Soleil jump. As they drew closer and she heard a low chuff, she had already spun on her heel, expecting to see Jali. "I was just-!" she blurted out before realising the owner of the heavier steps wasn't the sabretoothed woman, but a strange lion! Immediately, her expression changed from surprised guilt to suspicion. "Who're you?" Soleil asked, not caring how rude she sounded. She hadn't kept herself alive by being cheerful to every single stranger she came across, and she wasn't about to start now. Silvius

Silvius "Bear" The female’s response told him she was doing something she felt she needed o feel guilty for. Or at least justify. He was curious, but decided not to press the issue. The suspicious look that crossed the small lioness’ face wasn’t unfamiliar, she was young, small, and female. He was large, an adult, and male. He couldn’t say he hadn’t seen this look on other females before. Her question was fair enough, and he answered after a moment, keeping his distance respectfully. “I’m Silvius Renatius, sorry if I’m disturbing you, miss, I was just passing through the area.”He flicked his cream tipped-tail slightly, “I am curious, though, what are you doing poking though those reeds?”

[googlefont="Spartan"] It suprised Soleil how on-edge she was. She was used to feeling like this as of late, jumping at slight sounds and expecting eyes in the shadows. But it wasn't for that this time. Jali had introduced a little security back into her life, and sneaking around that genorosity felt bad. Not evil - just like she was abusing the sabre woman's trust. The idea stung and like most things that made her feel like that, Soleil rejected it to the back of her mind. It appeared the stranger had an answer ready for her, and Soleil peered at him with unabashed suspicion. "Apology accepted." she grunted with her head lifted high. It made her feel insecure, being so small compared to him. The line of questioning that followed made her even more defensive, tail flicking behind her with latent apprehension. "Well," she huffed, "Thats a bit nosy, don't you think?" Nothing had immediately popped to mind, and thus she was stalling for time. What would sound believable without being too forced? "Maybe I just like reeds," she jabbed, "Or do you go around questioning everyone you meet like this?" She hadn't really meant to be so harsh, but she had never been very good under pressure.
