Ranks.
Emperor/Empress., the primary leader of the pride. Able to claim or challenge for any lower ranking lion, lioness, youth or cub. Responsible for the pride's activity, and pride page updates (staff will also help out). Must make 3 posts per week. Can start wars or alliances.
Emperor/Empress Consort. The supporting ruler to the primary. Able to claim or challenge for any lower lion, lioness, cub or youth. Must make 2 posts per week. Can help with pride page, but not required to. Cannot start wars or alliances.
Heir. Will inherit pride from main leader. Can claim any loner lion, lioness, youth, or cub. Can challenge for any low or mid-ranked lion, lionesses, youths or cubs. Must be 1 year old at least.
Prince/ess. Children of the main or second leader. Can claim any loner and challenge for low-ranking lionesses/youths/cubs if over 1 year old.
Lord & Lady. Trusted right-hands of the main leader, and gender-specific. Can claim any loners, and challenge for low/mid ranking lions, lionesses, youths or cubs. Can also challenge for prince/princesses.
Earl & Countess. Backbones of the pride; often reliable or easy to talk to, they are usually good at bringing people together. Can claim any loner, and challenge for low-ranking lions, lionesses, youths, cubs. Gender specific.
Baron & Baroness. Social informants; expected to ascertain the morale and desires of the pride and iwarn of discontent. Can claim or invite any loner at pride borders, and challenge for low-ranking lionesses, youths and cubs. Gender specific.
Knight & Dame.E Often skilled fighters, expected to guard and aid the pride, or individuals who have performed impressive deeds for the pride. Can invite any loner at pride borders, and challenge for low rank youths and cubs.
Lion & Lioness. The main part of the pride. Can invite members to join, but they must be accepted by a ranked member. Cannot claim or challenge (except for self).
Youths. Children aged between 6 months and 1 year. Cannot claim, invite or challenge.
Cubs. Children aged 0-6 months. Cannot claim/invite/challenge.
Prisoners. Prisoners are any character stolen via challenge or demoted from another rank for punishment. Can challenge the heir or higher for freedom.
Slaves. Slaves are the lowest of the low. Whereas prisoners are held for a bounty or reason, slaves are without reconcile and have no chance of challenging for their freedom. Ranking members from other prides above Earl/Countess can challenge for their freedom.
Claiming System.
Any prideless individual can technically be claimed. This includes lions and lionesses. Lionesses can be immediately claimed by a ranked member if holding enough power. Lions can also be claimed but must be best in a dominance match for the claim to go through. Both genders can contest the claim, but if they lose the fight they must abide by the claim. After a two OOC week grace period they can be challenged for or challenge for their own freedom. If they fail this challenge they are immediately put into prisoner status or lower.
